Hide: to withhold or withdraw from sight

This print (mezzotint with perforations and silkscreen text), is a meditation on the word 'hide' that spans a range of lexical associations from foetal cowering to raw or dressed animal skins. Prof David Bunn in his opening address writes, 'One of the revelations of the show is the discovery that the Anglo-Saxon noun is associated with an apportionment of land. in linguistic history, therefor, a brutal set of equivalence is sedimented...'
