The Binding World at War

Uncles is an auto-biographical narrative written by Dr. Graeme Reid in response to The Binding installation. It moves between time-zones, from the Second World War to the present and geographic locations, from Nieu-Bethesda in the Karoo to Southern France, London and Johannesburg. Like shock waves that radiate outwards from a dropped bomb, the untold stories between brothers, lovers, uncles and nephews and fathers and sons mark the lives of the survivors. Greame unflinchingly relates his personal experience of these silent stories.
